We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Monica, her family, Chris Marshall, Western Skies Golf Club and all other sponsors and donors who made the golf tournament such a huge success!! Monica represents such a loving, generous spirit and her and her "pay it forward" attitude is an inspiration to all of us.

Thanks to Chris for all of his hard work and "making it happen". May you all be blessed for giving.

And, what would a golf tournament be without golfers? Thank you so much to everyone who came out and endured the heat to play golf and help raise much needed funds for Room For Joy.

Without the support of our local community members, we would not be able to continue to bring hope and joy to chronically ill children and provide healing bedroom environments. Thanks for partnering with us!

Angelita Room

Angelita's Bio

5 year old Angelita had an accident that left her paralyzed. This brave little girl has a bright spirit and an infectious smile! She said she wanted her room to feel like she was "under the sea." She also said Ariel from Disney's The Little Mermaid was her favorite movie and she wanted that to be in her room design as well. So, Southwest Scenic Group, a local set design company, set to work creating a 3-D coral reef, while one of our carpenters began building a treasure chest toy box. Our master carpenters fabricated a unique Seashell headboard and the bottom of the boat from the movie, to attach to the ceiling. One of our artists created the characters from the movie out of wood, including a life size Ariel, to put on the wall! The walls were airbrushed in a variegated paint effect to give the feel of being on the ocean floor. The addition of custom bed pillows coupled with custom bed skirts, added the finishing touches to create Angelita's very own "under the sea mermaid oasis!" We hope it brings out her smile each and every day from now on.

Yeira's Room

8 year old Yeira is diagnosed with Lymphedema, Intestinal Lymphangectasia, Hypothyroidism, Hypoprotienemia and a heart murmur. Despite her multiple physical challenges she goes to school, plays barbies with her friends, and she loves Beauty and the Beast! Our Room For Joy team wanted to help her imagine she was part of the ballroom scene in the movie. The chandelier, custom faux marble columns and blue silk swags helped create the atmosphere. Then Roger, one of our artists, custom painted a bed fit for a princess. Ray, another artist, created replicas of Cogsworth and Lumiere. Courtney, one of our designers, created the beautiful bedspread and sham to simulate an elegant ballgown. And finally, Dwight and Greg, our master carpenters, built a life- sized replica of

Paolea's Room

13 year old Paola, who has Osteosarcoma, loves to read, especially Nancy Drew mystery books. Her quiet, gentle nature inspired us to create a soft, cozy room environment where she can curl up on a nook type bed and read. The shabby chic d├ęcor reflects her favorite color, pink. The relaxed, soothing atmosphere will hopefully help her heal quickly and provide much needed comfort during her treatment.

Monica's Room

17 year old Monica is an avid "hip hop" dancer. She also loves artistic graffiti. Room For Joy wanted to give her an inspirational room that would bring both elements together and lift her spirits as she battles her second go around with leukemia. Roger, our airbrush artist had a great time "tagging" her wall with graffiti! Dwight, one of our carpenters created an amazing steel framed bed that represented a stage and Mike, another carpenter built a funky desk out of shipping crate boxes. We hope you dance, Monica!
